In an effort to curb the activities of bandits in Kogi west senatorial district in Kogi state, Chairmen of two local government areas in have ban sale of petrol in jerrycans, citing its potential use by criminal elements.

The Chairmen are Mopamuro local government area, Mr. Ademola Bello, and Ijumu Local Government Areas, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna respectively.

Mopamuro LGA Chairman, Mr. Ademola Bello, said the restriction was part of a broader security strategy aimed at disrupting the supply lines of kidnappers and bandits operating within and around the local government.

‘This action is necessary to curb the growing threat of banditry and kidnappings in our communities and across Kogi State,’ Bello stated.

He explained that the ban is targeted at preventing the diversion of fuel to unauthorised locations, particularly criminal hideouts.

In addition, he announced restrictions on bulk sales of food and other provisions, urging shop owners to refrain from selling large quantities of essential goods that could potentially aid criminal groups.

‘To further enhance surveillance and reduce criminal activity at night, a curfew has been imposed in Mopamuro, restricting movement from 10 p.m. onwards,’ he added.

Bello directed all security agencies operating in the area to strictly enforce the new order, warning that violators would face legal consequences.

‘By following these rules, residents will play a key role in keeping Mopamuro safe and secure,’ he said. ‘Together, we can create a community where peace and safety are the norm, not the exception.’

Similarly, in Ijumu Local Government Area, Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna issued a matching directive, halting the sale of petrol in jerrycans throughout the area.

Haruna cited actionable intelligence reports suggesting that large volumes of petrol were being funneled to criminals in the forests.

‘This measure is necessary to deny kidnappers and bandits the logistical support they rely on,’ Haruna said. ‘We ask for the full cooperation of our people in enforcing this for the safety of everyone.’

Both chairmen appealed to residents to remain calm and law-abiding, assuring them that the Kogi State Government is working tirelessly to address the rising security concerns.

They also encouraged citizens to continue supporting security efforts through cooperation, vigilance, and prayers.

Seven-year-old Morolake Adeleye of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Region 39, Ifo Ogun state stunned the congregation when she recited Psalm 119, the longest Bible chapter, by heart, on Saturday.

The young girl’s performance left the congregation in awe, with many describing the moment as a powerful testament to faith, dedication, and the impact of early spiritual training through the longest Bible chapter.

The event took place during the church’s Power Must Change Hands (PMCH) programme at MFM Prayercity, a vibrant Pentecostal church known for its emphasis on prayer, scripture, and spiritual warfare.

Adeleye, a soft-spoken but confident member of the children’s ministry, took to the pulpit under the watchful eyes of her parents, church leaders, and thousands of worshippers.

Dressed in a grey suit, she stood poised and began reciting the intricate acrostic poem, which is structured around the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet and celebrates the beauty and necessity of God’s Word, especially noted in the longest Bible chapter.

Psalm 119, often referred to as an ‘alphabet of praise,’ is renowned for its complexity and depth. Each of its 22 stanzas, corresponding to a Hebrew letter, contains eight verses that weave together themes of devotion, obedience, and reliance on God’s law.

The chapter’s 176 verses explore the psalmist’s struggles, triumphs, and meditations on divine truth, with iconic lines like, ‘Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path’ (Psalm 119:105, NIV).

Biblical scholars note that the chapter’s poetic structure and theological richness make it a challenging text even for seasoned memorisers.

The recitation, which lasted nearly 20 minutes, concluded with a standing ovation from many in the audience.

Adeleye’s achievement is particularly notable given the cultural and spiritual significance of Psalm 119, the longest Bible chapter.

In Christian and Jewish traditions, the chapter is revered for its focus on God’s character and the transformative power of scripture.

Historically, figures like William Wilberforce, the 19th-century British abolitionist, memorizedmemorised and recited Psalm 119 as a meditative practice.

In Nigeria, where oral tradition and scriptural memorisation are cherished, such displays are celebrated as signs of spiritual maturity, even among the young.

This is not the first time a young Nigerian has garnered attention for reciting Psalm 119. In 2018, a boy named Samuel Adeniyi went viral for a similar performance at the April 2018 Holy Ghost Service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

At least 30 people have been injured following a Russian drone strike on a railway station in north-east Ukraine, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

In a post on X, he said that preliminary reports indicated train staff and passengers were at the site of the strike in the city of Shostka, in the Sumy region.

Emergency services are on the scene and have begun helping people, he said, adding that information regarding the injured was still being established.

The Associate Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Toluwanimi Odukoya, has opened up about how her marriage crash and other personal losses have influenced her faith and ministry journey.

In an interview with Truthtable, shared on her YouTube channel on Thursday, Odukoya said her separation happened due to circumstances beyond her control.

She said, ‘I’ll say I’m separated. Most of you don’t know I’m separated and that’s actually defined or has shaped my life. It was circumstances beyond my control.’

I want to go into modeling, focusing on outfits and jewelry. I’m not dropping my professional career though; I’ll be pursuing my master’s degree, which I had planned before joining the show.’

2.Denari – Arinze Ekwenem

Also speaking with Tribune Online after his eviction alongside Tracy, Denari revealed his passion for creativity in all its forms.

According to him, going into acting was the next line of action after the show.

‘For me, anything that revolves around creativity, entertainment, and sports. In entertainment, I plan to drop songs with people I’m sure viewers have already heard me sing on the show. I also want to go into acting; I did a lot of that in the house and enjoyed it. As for sports, I love football and basketball. Anything in that space interests me.’

3.Bright Morgan – Bright Mbata

Following his eviction, Bright Morgan told Tribune Online in an exclusive interview that acting remains at the core of his brand.

‘My brand is built around acting. I want to explore other platforms we have a lot like Netflix and Showmax and I’m ready to put in the hard work. I also plan to attend a film school abroad later,’ Morgan disclosed.

4.Thelma Lawson

Thelma, who was also evicted the same day as Bright Morgan, informed Tribune online how she plans to continue her skincare business and join the entertainment industry.

To her, exploring opportunities in the entertainment industry is a vision she’s very much interested in. ‘I’m back to business. I’m a skincare consultant and retailer, but I’m also looking to explore opportunities in entertainment, beauty, and fashion. Whatever it is, I’m equal to the task.’

5.Joanna – Josephine Iwoh

For Joanna, the end of the BBNaija show is an opportunity to chase her dreams for the fashion industry.

Speaking in an exclusive with Tribune Online after eviction week 8, Joanna said, ‘If my dream isn’t bigger than me, then it’s not dreamable. Beyond being a model and fashion enthusiast, I plan to dive into business because I love to expand and multiply money.’

6.Kuture – Unekwojo Ameh

Kuture was the last of the four housemates who left the house in week 8.

Sharing his plans with Tribune Online, explaining that he was ready to venture into the entertainment and fashion industry but for his pending maritime course.

He said, ‘I’m a funny guy, and I showed that in the house. I see myself as a comic actor in movies. I’m also a fashion designer, but I still have two more years to study my maritime course in shipping management and marine logistics. I plan to enroll in a maritime academy in New Zealand to get my papers right’, He stated.

7. Zita – Elizabeth Oloruntola

Zita was evicted in week 9, but before then and in Ebuka’s Exclusive Interview, Zita revealed that she plans to make her mark in the fashion and beauty space. ‘I plan to launch a Barbie collection of pink dresses only, very intense! Aside from that, I want to go into the beauty space, content-wise, and also walk the runway as a fashion model,’ she shared.

8.Mide – Ayomide Iwasokun

Like Zita, Mide was evicted in week 9 but had a chat earlier with Ebuka where she expressed her readiness to go into acting. According to her, starting a YouTube channel is imminent.

She said ‘I’d never acted before the show, but I got a lot of accolades for it. Acting is something I’m very eager to pursue as a career. I also want to start my YouTube channel where I’ll showcase my wigs and makeup. You all should come watch me do my thing!’

9.Rooboy – Kayode Olatunde

Also in Ebuka’s exclusive Interview, Rooboy expressed excitement about expanding his career.’I want to go into acting, and I’m also planning my own concert, The Rooboy Experience. I’ll continue doing my hype man gigs too’, He said.

Each of these housemates leaves the Big Brother house with more than just fame; they leave with dreams, plans, and the drive to turn their newfound spotlight into a lasting legacy.

The Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out a suit filed by a businessman, Abubakar Ismaila Isa Funtua, regarding the alleged non-consensual transfer of his 43 million shares to Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services Limited (EMTS), operators of 9mobile.

The court, presided over by Justice Mohammed Umar, arrived at the verdict while delivering judgment on the suit designated FHC/ABJ/CS/1971/2024.

In handing down his judgment on the 9mobile share ownership, Justice Umar held that Isa, the lone plaintiff, lacked the locus standi, the legal capacity or right, to institute the action against the nine defendants.

Consequently, the court ordered the suit to be struck out. Isa had initiated the suit on December 27, 2024, through his counsel, Femi Atteh, SAN, seeking 11 reliefs.

The central claim was a declaration that he was the beneficial owner of the disputed shares, which he alleged were held in trust for him by Seltrix Limited in Teleology Nigeria Limited.

The nine defendants in the case included Seltrix Limited, Hayatu Hassan Hadejia, Teleology Nigeria Limited, Mohammed Edewor, EMTS (9mobile), the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), LH Telecommunication Limited, and General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma.

The 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th, and 9th defendants, represented by a team of Senior Advocates led by Michael Aondakaa, SAN, C.I. Okpoko, SAN, and R.O. Atabo, SAN, filed a joint preliminary objection on February 5, 2025.

They urged the court to dismiss the case, arguing that it lacked jurisdiction, constituted an abuse of court process, and that the plaintiff was merely a meddlesome interloper.

In upholding the objection, Justice Umar reviewed the evidence tendered by the plaintiff, finding a critical disconnect between the claims and the exhibits provided.

‘I carefully perused the said exhibit to see if the allegation of the Plaintiff is substantiated, I did not find any.

‘Nowhere was there any figure of the 43,000,000 million ordinary shares held in trust for the Plaintiff by the 1st Defendant mentioned,’ Justice Umar held.

The court further noted that the second defendant (Hayatu Hassan Hadejia) denied any business dealings with the plaintiff, a fact which Isa failed to controvert.

The judge concluded that the exhibits cannot, by any imagination, constitute a trust to confer locus standi on the plaintiff.

Justice Umar ruled that the plaintiff failed to establish the foundational facts of his claim or to logically link them to the exhibits he presented to the court.

Furthermore, the court noted that the defendants had adequately countered the said exhibits,’ and the plaintiff’s failure to respond to the counter-affidavit was deemed an admission.

In his final analysis, the judge stated that once a plaintiff is determined to lack legal capacity, ‘it does not matter what other issues have been raised for determination in the suit.’
