The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) has recommended to President Marcos six candidates for the post of deputy ombudsman for Luzon.
The JBC nominated Department of Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty, DOJ chief state counsel Dennis Arvin Chan, Presidential Management Staff Undersecretary Rodolfo John Robert Palattao IV, Judges Joeven Dellosa and Francisco Felizmenio, and Acting Assistant Ombudsman Ryan Medrano.
The post was vacated by former deputy ombudsman for Luzon Cornelio Somido who retired in August.
The Constitution provides that the ombudsman and his deputies must be appointed by the President from a list of at least six nominees prepared by the JBC, and from a list of three nominees for every vacancy thereafter.
