The Bureau of Customs intercepted over 16 kilos of shabu worth P109.8 million at the Paircargo warehouse at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay on Monday, the BOC reported yesterday.
The shabu was included in consolidated packages declared as ‘e-commerce’ from Hanoi, Vietnam.
Physical examination of the shipment by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group led to the discovery of three styrofoam boxes containing 26 packages of shabu concealed alongside packs of coffee powder.
BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said the interception highlights the bureau’s vigilance in preventing drug syndicates from using legitimate trade channels for illicit operations.
