Emperador Inc. is rejoining the FTSE Global Equity Index Series, while several firms are being downgraded.
Emperador re-enters the FTSE Global Equity Index Series as a Small Cap constituent following FTSE’s Asia Pacific ex Japan ex China Regional Index Semi-Annual Review announced on Aug. 21.
It is the only Philippine company newly added to the FTSE Small Cap segment in the review.
Emperador said the inclusion marks its return into the FTSE Global Equity Index Series universe and places the company within the relevant FTSE Small Cap and All Cap benchmark universes.
‘The company remains focused on broadening its institutional investor base, improving market liquidity and strengthening its investable market capitalization over time,’ it said.
FTSE Global Equity Index Series serves as a benchmark for institutional investors and fund managers worldwide.
Inclusion in the index enhances the company’s visibility in global capital markets and may potentially increase liquidity and broaden its shareholder base.
