Filipino teams get another shot at LCP through 2026 Wild Card

Filipino League of Legends teams will have another opportunity to reach the region’s top competition as Riot Games opens the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) 2026 Wild Card, a qualification pathway to the LCP Promotion Series.

The tournament will feature qualifiers in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, with each regional winner advancing to the Wild Card Playoffs. A fourth team will join through a Southeast Asia-wide Last Chance Qualifier.

For Philippine teams, the Wild Card offers a direct route to the LCP Promotion Series and a chance to earn a spot in the LCP, the Asia-Pacific league whose teams compete for berths at international events such as the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds).

Under the 2026 format, teams will first battle through a two-day single-elimination Open Round before advancing to a double-elimination Knockout Round played under Fearless Draft rules.

The winners from each regional qualifier, along with the Last Chance Qualifier champion, will compete in the LCP Wild Card Playoffs from October 3-6. The playoff champion will earn the Wild Card regions’ lone spot in the LCP Promotion Series, putting them one step away from joining the Pacific’s premier League of Legends competition.

The return of the Wild Card comes after Filipino squad Inferno Esports previously qualified for the LCP Promotion tournament through the Wild Card system last year. The team defeated rosters from across Southeast Asia before overcoming Thailand’s Full Sense in the finals to secure its place in the promotion event.

The Philippine qualifier to the LCP Wild Card will open registrations from July 30 to August 12, with the Open Round scheduled for August 15-16 and the Knockout Round set for August 20-23.
