Nearly 2,000 runners laced up and showed up for the Cebu leg of Takbo Para sa Life, Home Credit Philippines’ community fun run that celebrates movement, connection, and everyday progress.
Held at City di Mare, the event brought together families, friends, first-time runners, and seasoned athletes for a morning filled with energy, laughter, and shared purpose.
More than just a race, Takbo Para sa Life reflects Home Credit’s long-standing advocacy for overall wellness – physical, mental, and social – and its belief that progress is best achieved together.
Designed to be inclusive and welcoming, the Cebu run encouraged participants to move at their own pace, support one another, and enjoy the experience, reinforcing Home Credit’s commitment to building communities that uplift and inspire.
This year’s Cebu run was especially meaningful as Home Credit marked 10 years of serving Cebuanos, alongside 13 years in the Philippines, serving 13 million Filipinos nationwide.
Over the past decade, Cebu has played an important role in the company’s growth, making the celebration a heartfelt way to give back to the community that has been part of its journey.

Adding to the excitement, runners went home not just with smiles – but with exciting prizes too- after enjoying raffle giveaways from valued partners, including Imperial Appliances, ECPay, Lyf Cebu, and many more.
These surprises capped off a fun-filled day and underscored the strong partnerships that help make Takbo Para sa Life a memorable experience for participants.
Following the strong turnout in Cebu and the earlier Manila leg, Home Credit is gearing up for bigger and better Takbo Para sa Life events in the future, with plans to bring the run to more communities nationwide.
Meanwhile, multi-titled long distance runner Mark Mahinay emerged as champion in the men’s 10K with the fastest time of 31 minutes and 33 seconds.
Kenyan nationals Eric Chepsiror and Nickson Kosgei placed second and third with 31:43 and 32:19 clockings, respectively.
Ruth Gacheru secured the women’s 10K crown with a time of 40:10. Michelle Zamora took the second spot in 40:36 as Ashley Faith Alburo wound up third in 45:26.
