Miguel Tabuena followed up his celebrated triumph in The International Series Philippines with a solid joint 21st place at the prestigious Link Hong Kong Open at the Hong Kong Golf Club.
Tabuena shot a three-under 67 in yesterday’s final round, banking on clutch birdies on the last two holes to offset back-to-back bogeys on Nos. 13 and 14 and secure a 33-34 round.
With earlier rounds of 66, 67 and 66, the Pinoy ace finished at 14-under 266 overall in the $2-million IS tournament held immediately after his greatest championship at good old Sta. Elena Golf Club.
He banked $20,600 (around P1.2 million) for this week’s performance, which is also expected to boost his quest to top the IS rankings by yearend and gain entry to next year’s LIV Golf.
