A woman fell overboard from a domestic passenger vessel bound for Caticlan Port in Malay, Aklan, but was safely rescued by the ship’s crew in the waters off Batangas City early Thursday. In a report, the Batangas station of the Philippine Coast Guard was notified at around 3 a.m. by the Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) about the accident approximately 4.5 nautical miles east by north of Isla Verde. The PCG immediately coordinated with the vessel and confirmed that the ship’s crew had recovered the passenger.
