Vehicular traffic in the Shaw-Ortigas area from Wednesday, Nov. 4, to Saturday, Nov. 7. is expected to affected by the transportation of one of the Metro Manila Subway Project’s tunnel boring machines.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Facebook on Monday, Nov. 2, that the possible gridlock is due to the transport of the boring machine from the CP104 Stockyard located at Julia Vargas Avenue in Pasig City to the Shaw Boulevard Station in Mandaluyong City.

The said machine will be used in the construction of the tunnels that will connect the subway project’s Shaw Boulevard and Ortigas Avenue Stations.

‘Motorists are advised to take alternate routes,’ the DOTr said as it apologized for the inconvenience that the machine’s transfer may cause.

Under Contract Package 104, the Shaw Boulevard Station segment is being implemented with a contract cost of P18.27 billion.

It covers the construction of 3.40 kilometers of subway tunnels and the Ortigas Avenue and Shaw Boulevard Stations.
