A heavy rainfall warning was issued for three provinces in Luzon Friday due to the effects of the shear line, according to the state weather bureau.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its early morning rainfall outlook that the shear line-or the boundary of the northeasterly and easterly winds-is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains to the following areas:
Cagayan
Apayao
Isabela
Pagasa said that the rainfall forecast for the provinces is from 50 to 100 millimeters, but it may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas.
‘Impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall,’ Pagasa said.
Pagasa also warned of possible flooding, especially in low-lying areas or near the coasts.
Meanwhile, 50 to 100 millimeters of rainfall are also forecast to drench Cagayan and Apayao on Saturday, November 29.
