The municipal government of Dingras in nearby Ilocos Norte is giving a P1,000 financial incentive to teaching and nonteaching personnel in public schools to mark World Teachers’ Day on Monday, Oct. 5.
The incentive was granted through the initiative of Mayor Joemelle Ernesti S. Go Sy and under Municipal Ordinance No. 2026-13-019.
According to the municipal government, the assistance aims to recognize the contributions of teachers and school personnel who help educate and support learners in the municipality.
The local government also highlighted the role of education in Dingras’ development, stating that teachers and nonteaching personnel contribute to creating an environment where students can learn and succeed.
World Teachers’ Day is observed annually on Oct. 5 to recognize the contributions of teachers to education and society.
