ITCZ to affect Palawan, parts of Visayas, Mindanao Wednesday

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring rains over Palawan, and parts of Visayas and Mindanao while fair weather will be seen over the rest of Luzon on Wednesday, according to the state weather bureau.

In the 5 a.m. weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration, weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said that the prevailing ITCZ is weak. The ITCZ is the convergence of winds from the northern and southern hemispheres.

(Palawan, Negros Island Region, and Zamboanga Peninsula will experience rains due to ITCZ.)

(The ITCZ is weak, that’s why huge portions of Visayas and Mindanao will see fair weather but expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of localized thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.)

Meanwhile, she said that fair weather conditions are expected over Luzon, with chances of localized thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
