Katseye has nothing but gratitude after they received their first -Grammy nominations, which the girl group regarded as a dream come true.
The six-member group was nominated in the best new artist and best pop duo/group performance categories of the 2026 Grammy Awards, as announced by the Recording Academy on Friday, Nov. 7.
‘What an absolute honor it is to be nominated for our first-ever Grammy Awards,’ Katseye said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. ‘We grew up watching and dreaming about moments like this, and seeing it become real feels surreal.’
‘We’re so thankful to the Recording Academy for this recognition and to all the incredible artists nominated alongside us. We can’t believe this; it’s so inspiring to be in such amazing company,’ they added. ‘Most of all, thank you to our fans, our Eyekons, for supporting us every step of the way.’
For the best new artist honor, Katseye is up against Olivia Dean, The Marias, Addison Rae, sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren and Lola Young.
The girl group earned the best pop duo/group performance nomination for their single ‘Gabriela.’ Other nominees for the award include Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande (‘Defying Gravity’), HUNTR/X: EJAE, Audrey Nuna, REI AMI (‘Golden’ from ‘KPop Demon Hunters’), Rosé and Bruno Mars (‘APT.’) and SZA with Kendrick Lamar (’30 For 30′).
Katseye, also behind the songs ‘Gnarly,’ ‘Touch’ and ‘Debut,’ is a multinational group formed through the survival show ‘Dream Academy.’
The group consists of Sophia Laforteza – who is a Filipino – Megan Skiendiel, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Rajagopalan, Jeong Yoonchae and Manon Bannerman.
