More eastern Bohol towns under Signal No. 3 as Tino strengthens

More towns in eastern Bohol are now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 as Typhoon Tino approaches the Visayas, the government weather bureau reported Monday afternoon.

In its 2 p.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) identified the towns as Pres. Carlos P. Garcia, Bien Unido, Ubay, Trinidad, Talibon, San Miguel, Mabini, Getafe, Buenavista, Inabanga, Danao, Dagohoy, Guindulman, Pilar, Alicia, Candijay, Anda, Jagna, Duero, Sierra Bullones, Carmen, Sagbayan, and Clarin.

Authorities warned of storm-force winds up to 117 km/h that could damage property and threaten lives. Residents, especially in low-lying and coastal areas, were urged to follow evacuation orders and take safety precautions.

As of 1 p.m., Tino was 235 km east-southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, moving westward at 25 km/h with gusts of up to 150 km/h
