In a series of transport hub inspections, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has reminded transport terminals and bus operators to screen content appropriate for families and children.
Ahead of the All Saints’ Day travel rush, the MTRCB began inspections on Tuesday, covering bus terminals and transport hubs in Muntinlupa City, Las Piñas City, Pasay City, Parañaque City, Quezon City, Taguig City, Manila, Caloocan City, Valenzuela City, and Bocaue, Bulacan.
‘The MTRCB has begun its inspections of transport terminals in different parts of Metro Manila to ensure that bus operators comply with content regulations. … This is to check whether transport terminals and public utility vehicle (PUV) operators and drivers are screening only G (General Audience)- and PG (Parental Guidance)-rated content,’ the MTRCB said in a statement on Wednesday.
The G-rated content is suitable for audiences of all ages, while PG-rated content requires parental guidance for younger viewers.
MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto reminded transport terminals and bus operators to comply with content regulations governing PUVs and other public spaces.
‘Hinihikayat namin ang kooperasyon ng mga transport terminals at operations nang masiguro natin na angkop mapanood ng mga batang pasahero ang mga ipapalabas sa mga bus habang sila ay pauwi ng probinsya para sa Undas,’ Sotto said in a statement.
(We encourage transport terminals and operators to cooperate to ensure that young passengers can watch appropriate programs on buses as they travel home to their provinces for Undas.)
The MTRCB is conducting the final day of its inspections on Thursday.
