Anticipating an influx of travelers for All Saints’ Day this year, public safety and health officials in the province have convened their respective health and disaster risk reduction and management councils to lay out plans before and after November 1.
In a public advisory, Provincial Health Officer (PHO) Dr. Cielo Ante reminded the public of health protocols that need to be observed.
‘While we are celebrating Undas 2025, we are anticipating the influx of people to cemeteries, terminals, churches, and other crowded places. To ensure the safety and health of everyone, we are reminding everyone of measures against flu and influenza-like illness (ILI),’ Ante said.
The public advisory shared by Ante on Wednesday advised the public to wear face masks whenever in crowded places to prevent the spread of diseases, wash hands with soap or alcohol-based hand sanitizer, and avoid crowded places when experiencing fever, coughing, or a runny nose.
Vinscent Gahol, head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), said that they will coordinate with city and municipal DRRMOs for a consolidated action plan for All Saints’ Day.
‘We will have a final council meeting on Thursday, October 30, 2025. We will ask the respective city and municipal DRRMO to deploy personnel to their cemeteries, ports, and other crowded places to monitor any health and public safety concerns,’ Gahol said in a telephone interview.
Meanwhile, the Calapan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council CCDRRMC) met on October 23, 2025, and finalized a plan for All Saints’ Day.
‘We met with the Bureau of Fire, Philippine National Police (PNP), Public Safety Department (PSD), and the City Health and Sanitation Department (CHSD) and devised an operation plan for November 1. We agreed to deploy security and health personnel to all the cemeteries in the City,’ Dennis Escosora, CDRRMO head, said in another telephone interview on Wednesday.
Escosora added that they have agreed that the PNP will start their active monitoring on October 31, while personnel from the PSD and CHSD will man posts in cemeteries on November 1, and a Lakbay Alalay will be set up by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to assist motortists.
