More than 147,000 people visited Manila South Cemetery on All Saints’ Day, November 1, to pay respects to their departed loved ones, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
As of 8 p.m., the PNP recorded a total of 147,160 visitors, with 28,460 still inside the cemetery grounds.
Authorities reported a peaceful observance, with no incidents of theft or other crimes. However, over 1,000 prohibited items were confiscated from October 30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, including 534 cigarettes, 470 lighters, and eight bladed weapons.
The Makati City Police said they also assisted individuals affected by the heat, taking the blood pressure of 50 people during the afternoon.
The cemetery remains open to the public until 9 p.m. today.
