The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Thursday morning issued a yellow rainfall warning over parts of Bataan and Zambales due to heavy rains from the southwest monsoon or habagat.
In Pagasa’s Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 25 issued Thursday at 8 a.m., yellow rainfall warning, meaning ‘be alert,’ is up in the following areas:
Zambales
Olongapo
Subic
San Marcelino
Castillejos
San Antonio
San Felipe
San Narciso
Bataan
Dinalupihan
Hermosa
Morong
Areas under yellow warning tend to experience rainfall between 7.5 mm and 15 mm within one hour and can continue in the next two hours.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, other parts of Bataan, as well as areas in Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Zambales and Nueva Ecija may experience light to moderate rains with occasional heavy rains may affect within the next three hours, according to the bureau.
Moreover, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains affecting Bataan, Tarlac, and Quezon which may likewise persist within three hours and may affect nearby areas.
Pagasa will issue its next rainfall warning at 11 a.m.
