Meralco import Marvin Jones has been making waves for the Bolts in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Sunday was no different as he had another stellar game in a 108-93 rout of Blackwater at Araneta Coliseum.
With the 7-foot Jones at the forefront, the Bolts are on track to secure a Top Four finish with a 7-3 record.
Their success is a testament to how well Jones fits in with the Bolts, as per coach Luigi Trillo.
‘We weren’t sure until he entered the court, but he’s been a pro. He brings a lot to the table, he’s versatile,’ said Trillo.
‘He seems to know the game, and he showed that he’s doing well. He makes his teammates better.’
Jones recorded yet another double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds against the Bossing.
When the Bolts rolled past Barangay Ginebra on Friday, 112-91, Jones collected 18 points, nine rebounds, four assists, one steal and a block in just close to 26 minutes of play.
Aside from his solid numbers, Trillo also lauded Jones’ unselfishness.
‘If you have a dominant guy who scored 40 or 50, other guys don’t get a feel, but he understands the game.’
‘He understands ball movement, defense and he has played overseas a lot. He’s a vet.’
