The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday said it recorded a 17.45-percent drop in crime rates across the country between Aug. 26 and Nov. 26, 2025.
There were 10,314 focus crime incidents from Aug. 26 to Nov. 26, 2024, compared to 8,514 incidents during the same period this year, the PNP said in a statement.
Focus crimes include murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft and carnapping.
The PNP noted that carnapping incidents dropped by 42.42 percent; rape cases by 39.83 percent; murders by 30.61 percent; physical injuries by 24.19 percent; homicides by 20.58 percent; robberies by 6.86 percent; and thefts by 0.27 percent.
The police force touted that it arrested 5,730 most wanted persons and 15,835 other wanted persons between Aug. 26 and Nov. 26, 2025.
Further, the law enforcement agency said it confiscated P4.23-billion worth of illegal drugs and arrested 17,270 drug suspects during the same period.
The PNP also said it confiscated 7,541 unregistered firearms and arrested 3,024 individuals over gun-related charges.
Moreover, the police force touted that it confiscated over P579 million worth of allegedly illicit cigarettes, petroleum products, agricultural items and other goods, arresting over 604 individuals in 666 anti-smuggling operations from Aug. 26 to Nov. 26, 2025
