PVL: Creamline thriving in all-to-play format, says Jema Galanza

Jema Galanza credits Creamline’s hot start in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series to the Cool Smashers enjoying every game together and making the most of their opportunities.

Galanza stood out in another Creamline balanced attack with 16 points and 11 excellent receptions, as Creamline outlasted Capital1, 25-18, 31-29, 25-16, for a 4-0 record on Thursday night at Santiago Sports Arena in Isabela.

‘I’m really happy because everyone is performing and contributing. I always say in interviews that everyone deserves to play, so I think this season is really an opportunity for everyone to show what they can do,’ said Galanza in Filipino.

The former league MVP believes that the all-to-play format has been bringing out the best in the Cool Smashers, who also have Alyssa Valdez, Bernadeth Pons, Tots Carlos, Michele Gumabao, Bea De Leon, Pangs Panaga, and setters Jia De Guzman and Kyle Negrito.

‘It’s a good thing because opponents never really know who to focus on. Even we don’t know exactly who will step up on a given day, but we’re enjoying this season because the PVL’s format is different this time. We’re focusing more on ourselves and enjoying the game because the starting six isn’t always the same,’ Galanza said.

More than their talent-rich roster, Galanza and the Cool Smashers continue to thrive on their ‘good vibes’ culture that has helped them win 11 titles since joining the league in 2017.

‘It might seem like a small thing to others, but what stands out for us is how much more we’re enjoying the game because everyone gets to play. We get excited to see what each of us can contribute. Instead of focusing only on the pressure of the game, we’re enjoying the experience together as a team,’ said the veteran outside spiker.

‘We always enjoy playing together, but having everyone available makes a big difference because coach Sherwin (Meneses) can think more clearly about how to rotate the players. Ate Jia and Pons, in particular, make significant contributions to the team,’ she added.

Galanza is also grateful to their fans, who have been cheering them wherever they go, after a memorable game night in out of town.

‘I think it’s wonderful. I always say that whenever we play in different places, the support we receive is incredible. What’s even more heartwarming is that the fans aren’t just supporting Creamline – they’re there to watch and support both teams,’ she said.
