PLDT continued to build on its momentum, beating winless ZUS Coffee 25-20, 25-18, 25-16, for a second straight win in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series on Thursday at Santiago Sports Arena in Isabela.
Savi Davison poured in 13 points built on a 12-of-33 attacking clip and a block, while making nine excellent receptions out of 16 attempts to help the High Speed Hitters finish the game in just an hour and 24 minutes.
PLDT missed coach Rald Ricafort for the second straight as he continues to recover from illness. Assistant coach Arnold Laniog called the shots anew and steered the club to a tie with Farm Fresh and Akari at 2-2.
‘We’re happy because we were able to execute our game plan and bounce back mentally after losing two consecutive games,’ said PLDT assistant coach Manolo Refugia in Filipino, speaking for Laniog. ‘We’ve found our groove again, and the challenge now is to stay consistent and maintain this winning feeling.
‘The fire is back in everyone, from the coaching staff to the players, and we’re determined to get back on track. Coach Rald isn’t with us right now, but he continues to guide us while he recovers,’ he added.
Kianna Dy chipped in eight points all from attacks, her substitute Jessa Ordiales, and Dell Palomata added six each. Setter Angge Alcantara dished out 13 excellent sets off the bench, while captain libero Kath Arado had 13 digs and eight receptions.
PLDT braces for its next battle against defending champion Creamline Thursday next week at Philsports Arena.
No one from ZUS Coffee scored in double figures, with Zam Nolasco leading the way with nine points. Alyssa Eroa’s defensive effort of 11 digs and 10 excellent receptions went for naught as the Thunderbells remained winless in four games.
