Soil erosion has affected portions of the grounds of Loacan National High School in Itogon, Benguet, weakening some riprap and other protective structures around the campus.
Loacan Barangay Captain Franklin Almoza ordered the suspension of in-person classes at the school on Tuesday, Aug. 25, after an inspection found portions of the school premises affected by erosion.
Almoza had earlier ordered classes suspended midday Monday, as a precaution to protect students and school personnel.
The suspension will remain in effect until hazardous conditions subside and authorities determine that the school grounds and access routes are safe for learners and personnel
