As the influx of travelers begins ahead of Undas 2026, the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) on Thursday reminded passengers to remove prohibited items from their belongings to avoid trip delays.
The reminder came as the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) administration reported confiscating a total of 260 banned objects from Oct. 25 to 29.
These materials included 89 knives, 51 lighters, 46 butane gas canisters, 35 cutters, 28 pairs of scissors, 10 bolo knives and one liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank.
The appeal came from OTS Administrative and Finance Service Director Ernesto Tendero during an interview with the media at PITX.
‘If they find that they are carrying bladed weapons or any other prohibited items, they should not bring them. Otherwise, their trips will be delayed, inconveniencing both them and other passengers,’ Tendero warned.
Tendero likewise urged passengers traveling by air, sea or land to remain alert and vigilant at all times.
‘We should be careful. Number one, keep a close eye on your belongings,’ he warned.
‘No matter how much we strengthen our security measures, there will still be people who take advantage of the situation,’ he added.
