The Coast Guard Station in Oriental Mindoro has temporarily suspended vessel trips in five southern towns of the province due to the threat of Severe Tropical Storm Tino, according to its advisory issued at 6:21 a.m. Monday.
In its 5 a.m. Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 4, issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), reported that Tino was affecting the towns of Bansud, Bongabong, Roxas, Mansalay, and Bulalacao.
‘All vessels are reminded to take precautionary measures and remain vigilant in monitoring the movement of the tropical cyclone. Voyages will remain suspended until further notice and upon improvement of weather and sea conditions,’ the Coast Guard said in its advisory.
It added that vessels seeking to take shelter will be permitted to do so, provided they file a request, but no passengers or cargo will be allowed on board.
