An individual who seemed to have fallen into a dam in Floridablanca in Pampanga was rescued by authorities amid the heavy rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat.
In a Facebook reel uploaded by the municipality of Floridablanca on Monday, rescuers promptly provided a life vest to a man and pulled him from the waging waters of the dam. ‘We pray for the rescue team in their work, and hope that during times of calamity, they will be protected,’ the caption read.
The inclement weather conditions also prompted the municipality to suspend face-to-face classes in all levels for both public and private schools on Tuesday, August 11.
In the 5 a.m. weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration, habagat is expected to persist in some parts of Luzon while fair weather conditions are forecast in many parts of the country. It added that habagat is forecast to weaken in the coming days where improving weather conditions will be seen by many parts of the country. /mr
