Cyber police arrested 151 suspects and seized more than 140 million baht over the past year in a crackdown on illegal e-cigarette networks.
Pol Maj Gen Siriwat Deepor, commander of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau Division 1 and deputy spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police, said the nationwide operation targeted online sellers and transport networks.
He warned some devices had also been modified to deliver ketamine, ecstasy and other psychoactive substances.
“E-cigarettes are also linked to criminal networks and a threat to young people,” he said.
He said the networks extended from importers and logistics providers to mule accounts and overseas platforms, creating enforcement challenges.
