Heavy rain is forecast in the Northeast early this week and then in Greater Bangkok and other regions until Friday.
The monsoon trough over the North and the upper Northeast would bring heavy rain to the eastern part of the Northeast on Sunday and Monday, Sugunyanee Yavinchan, director-general of the Meteorological Department said on Sunday morning.
‘Flash flooding and runoff is possible especially in the Mekong River Basin, slopes, waterways and low-lying areas,’ she said.
From Tuesday to Friday rainfall would increase over Thailand, with heavy falls possible in the lower North, the lower Northeast, the Central Plains including Greater Bangkok, the East and the western part of the South.
That would result from the monsoon trough moving to the lower North, the upper Central Plains and the Northeast.
