Raids spanning seven locations in Chon Buri and Phuket disrupted a major narcotics network and led to the arrest of its mastermind on Saturday, police said.
The operation, led by the Crime Suppression police, took place simultaneously at two sites in Chon Buri and five in Phuket. Authorities targeted the network of a boss known as Phakawat ‘Jo’ Honesaithong.
Two arrests were made during the sweep: a woman identified only as Ornjira, believed to be the girlfriend of the group’s leader, taken from an apartment in Pattaya; and Puwanat, apprehended in Si Racha district of Chon Buri.
Both are wanted in Phuket for distributing Category 1 narcotics and conspiracy to launder money.
The operation also resulted in the detention of Mr Phakawat and another suspect identified as Jesada, after additional evidence was found to support the cases against them.
