A man hurled a ping-pong bomb inside a shopping mall before robbing a gold shop in the Bang Phli area of Samut Prakan on Saturday afternoon, making off with gold ornaments worth about 1.3 million baht.
The dramatic robbery occurred at about 2.30pm when the lone robber created chaos inside the Lotus City Park mall to gain access to the Yaowarat Krungthep gold shop branch. He jumped over the counter and swiftly seized gold ornaments before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
