LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The country’s central Bankers team, Silver Strikers on Saturday afternoon beat Tanzania’s Young Africans one to nil at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) in the capital Lilongwe in the CAF Champions league.
Silver Strikers Head Coach Etson Kadenge Mwafulirwa says his side still has a lot of work to do despite their 1-0 victory against Tanzania’s Young Africans.
In his post match interview after his team’s victory, Kadenge said they were facing a team which is tactically good and they have to be cautious about it as they prepare for their trip to Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Tanzania next weekend.
“They are tactically good with well experienced players so we will approach the next game with caution,” Kadenge said.
He indicated that they won’t go to Tanzania with a defensive mind but an attacking one because that’s the best way to defend.
“We will try as much as we can to score an away goal as well but if that will not work then we will protect what we have,” he lamented.
Meanwhile, his counterpart Roman Fols expressed his disappointment with the defeat believing that his side had many opportunities they failed to utilize.
“I don’t want to bring more negatives into the result but we were not good enough today,” Fols said.
He made it clear that they will watch the game again and see which areas they need to improve to turn up the tables.
“We will make sure that we work towards qualifying for the next round despite today’s result and we will surely do it,” he said.
Andrew Joseph scored the only goal of the game on 75th minute of the match after some good work from former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder Ernest Petro.
It was Joseph’s second goal for the Central Bankers in the CAF Champions League being the only player that has scored for the Area 47 side in CAF competition so far.
