Eid-el-Maulud: Yilwatda seeks peace, unity

All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman of Nentawe Yilwatda has urged Nigerians to shun division, intolerance and violence as the country approaches another electoral season.

Yilwatda made the call in a message felicitating Muslims across Nigeria and the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

He said the occasion offers Nigerians an opportunity to reflect on the virtues of Prophet Muhammad, particularly at a time when the country is facing challenges.

According to him, the values exemplified by the Prophet bring renewed hope for Nigerians.

‘Eid-ul-Mawlid reminds us of the timeless virtues exemplified by the Prophet. At this challenging moment in our national journey, these values offer us a pathway to healing, unity and renewed hope,’ Yilwatda said.

The APC chairman urged Nigerians to view the country’s diversity as a strength rather than a weakness, stressing the need for tolerance and unity ahead of the next elections.

He warned that political contests should not be allowed to undermine brotherhood and national unity.

‘As we approach another electoral season, we must reject division, intolerance and violence. No political contest should destroy the bonds of brotherhood and national unity that bind us together,’ Yilwatda said.

He also called on the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion to pray for lasting peace, security and prosperity in the country, as well as wisdom for political leaders.

Yilwatda expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, saying the country remained endowed with immense talent, resilience and potential despite its challenges.
