The Federal High Court has begun relocating its Lagos Judicial Division from its premises at 24 Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, to its newly completed complex at 1B Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi.
The phased relocation began on July 31, following completion of the new complex, and is designed to ensure a smooth transition while minimising disruption to court proceedings, according to a public notice issued by the Chief Registrar, Yahaya Yakubu Shafa.
The first batch to move includes Vacation Courts 7 and 12, and Courts 2, 3, 4 and 5, along with the offices of the Chief Registrar, the Deputy Chief Registrars and the Electronic Litigation Registrar of Process.
Remaining courts and offices will relocate in subsequent phases, the notice said.
The notice, addressed to the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), litigants, the Lagos State Government and the general public, urged stakeholders to take note of the move and make necessary adjustments. It advised lawyers and litigants with matters before the affected courts to verify venues ahead of proceedings, adding that further updates would follow as the relocation continues.
