Brandleep Limited and its founder, Oluwafolajimi David Oluwole, have emerged among the major winners at the 14th EDGE Awards, with the agency and its founder receiving recognition for their contributions to Nigeria’s Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising industry.
At the ceremony organised by Marketing Edge Magazine in Lagos, Brandleep was named Edge Outstanding Young OOH Agency of the Year, while Oluwole received the Edge Outstanding OOH Technology Personality of the Year award.
The double recognition highlights the role of technology and data-driven solutions in transforming the OOH advertising space and expanding opportunities for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Brandleep described the awards as a collective achievement. Oluwole congratulated the company’s workforce. ‘Congratulations to team Brandleep,’ he wrote, while the firm’s Account and Media Sales Manager, Olubusayo Odelana, added: ‘More win to us, we promise to press unto the upward calling.’
The agency said its recognition was linked to its efforts to deploy technology to improve the OOH advertising ecosystem and lower barriers to entry for SMEs.
According to the company, its ‘giant stride in using technology to drive industry growth and reduce barriers to entry for SME businesses in the Out-Of-Home industry didn’t go unnoticed.’
Oluwole’s professional journey combines statistics, computer science, digital marketing and brand management.
He graduated from the University of Benin with a Second-Class Upper degree in Statistics and Computer Science before obtaining an MBA in Strategy and Marketing from Atlantic International University.
He is also a Certified Digital Marketing Professional of the Digital Marketing Institute of Ireland, Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), Associate Member of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and Full Member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria.
His professional development includes Google and Meta certifications as well as training at the Brand Management Academy.
Before establishing Brandleep, Oluwole worked in digital sales and brand-related roles at OrangeOne, ROI Digital (Wild Fusion) and Greenwich Merchant Bank.
His experience in digital marketing and brand management has influenced Brandleep’s approach to OOH advertising, particularly its emphasis on combining creativity with data.
‘What makes us different is our ability to combine creativity with data-driven insights. We’re not just putting up ads; we’re ensuring they connect, engage, and leave a lasting impression,’ he has said.
He has also rejected the idea of deploying uniform media strategies for brands, stressing the need to develop campaigns around individual business objectives.
‘We understand that every brand has its unique challenges and goals, so we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we tailor our services to meet the specific needs of each client,’ he said.
The approach has attracted attention from practitioners within the industry.
An industry practitioner, Onwuazo Markanthony, congratulated the company on the award, describing himself as an admirer of its approach to OOH media.
‘Huge congratulations to the entire team on this milestone Award. I’ve been a huge admirer of your fresh approach to OOH media for a while now,’ he wrote.
For Oluwole, however, the awards represent another stage in Brandleep’s growth rather than an endpoint.
‘We don’t just want to meet expectations; we want to exceed them. Our promise to our clients is that we will always strive to be ahead of the curve, providing solutions that are as unique as the brands we represent,’ he said.
The EDGE Awards recognition consequently places Brandleep’s growth within the wider evolution of Nigeria’s OOH sector, where technology, data analytics and more targeted advertising solutions are increasingly shaping how brands reach consumers.
