Lionel Messi added another piece of silverware to his collection on Wednesday night, scoring and assisting as Inter Miami defeated Cruz Azul 2-0 to win the Campeones Cup.
The triumph marked Messi’s fifth trophy with Inter Miami, adding the Campeones Cup to the Leagues Cup, MLS Supporters’ Shield, Eastern Conference Championship and MLS Cup.
Messi has also enjoyed an extraordinary, trophy-laden career with Barcelona and Argentina, winning major domestic, European and international honours, including the UEFA Champions League, Copa América and FIFA World Cup.
