Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club under District 404B5 Nigeria has unveiled its 11th president in the person of Lion Temitayo Osunremi, alongside other club executives for the 2026/27 Lions Year.
The event, which took place last weekend at Imperial Hall, Alausa, Ikeja, also doubled as the club’s N50million luncheon for its community service project.
District 404B5 Nigeria governor, Lion Phina Origho, who supervised the installation charged Osunremi to be purposeful, as he takes over the mantle of leadership; to be compassionate and to aim at making lasting impact on his community.
While urging him to lead with integrity, humility, courage and inclusiveness, Origho said: ‘A great leader does not only achieve results, a great leader develops people.’
Additionally, she urged the club’s leadership to embrace Mission 1.5, Lions Club International’s mission to achieve 1.5million membership worldwide by July 1 2027.
Osunremi, upon be handed the mantle of leadership by his predecessor, Lion Adeniran Somefun, pledged to lead with integrity, humility, transparency and responsiveness.
He said his administration would focus on initiatives spanning advocacy and education, support for children with disabilities, youth development, health and well-being, and impacting the vulnerable in society.
In line with the Lions Clubs core focuses, he said the proposed programmes would seek to develop skills and talents among young people, promote health awareness and implement projects that would leave a lasting legacy.
Keynote speaker, Dr. Elizabeth Makinde, a Melvin Jones Fellow and donor to the Nigerian Lions Charity, urged the new leadership to measure its success by the lives impacted, members engaged, projects completed and partnerships fostered, even as she described Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club as a performing and award-winning club.
