JUST IN: Spain’s De La Fuentes wins Coach of the Year

Spain’s head coach Luis De La Fuentes has won the men’s coach of the year award in the 2026 Ballon d’or ceremony.

Fuentes led Spain to the World Cup title earlier this year after beating Argentina in the final.

He won the award over four of the game’s biggest names to land the prize: Luis Enrique (Paris Saint-Germain) Mikel Arteta (Arsenal) Unai Emery (Aston Villa) and Vincent Kompany (Bayern Munich).

Spain were fantastic in the 2026 World Cup and it was down to De La Fuentes’ man management and tactics.
