Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Osun State, Mr Adedamola Adebayo, popularly known as Fryo, has endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid.
The Nation recalls that a faction of the PDP conducted a primary in December 2025, in which Adebayo emerged as the candidate after polling 919 votes out of 957 cast, shortly after Adeleke left the party. However, the exercise was not recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Adebayo said his decision to endorse Adeleke followed extensive consultations, sober reflection, and an assessment of the state’s political circumstances.
‘I have arrived at this decision based on my assessment of the political circumstances in our state and my conviction that, at this particular moment, this is the direction I am prepared to take.’
