Barau FC midfielder Stephen Wisdom believes the club can make a strong impact in the Nigeria Premier Football League following their impressive start to the season.
Wisdom spoke after helping the Maliya Boys defeat Abia Warriors 2-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, a performance that earned him the SWAN Man of the Match award.
The former Bayelsa United midfielder has become an important part of Barau’s midfield since earning a starting place against Ranchers Bees.
His performances have helped provide balance in midfield as Barau maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.
Attention now turns to their next league fixture against Sporting Lagos, and Wisdom says the team will travel with the intention of collecting maximum points.
‘We are not going to Lagos just to see the place. We are going there to fight for the three points,’ he said.
Wisdom believes Barau have the quality and confidence to build on their promising start as the season develops.
