The Barbadian pair of Stephen Slocombe and Kaipo Marshall captured a silver medal in the men’s doubles at the Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC) here on Tuesday.
Competing in the final against El Salvador’s Cesar Cruz and Diego Duran, Slocombe and Marshall fought valiantly but went down in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.
It was Barbados’ first medal at the CAC Games, and their first-ever tennis medal at a major multi-sport Games.
Their historic performance was lauded by the Barbados Tennis Association (BTA) on its social media pages.
