When Did Below Deck’s Kate and Captain Lee Stop Speaking? What We Know

Kate Chastain and Captain Lee Rosbach falling out of touch is arguably one of the biggest offscreen twists in Below Deck history.

The duo started working together in 2014 when Kate joined season 2 of Below Deck. They remained the only consistent cast members from season to season until Kate announced her exit after five years.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, I have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new land based role,” she wrote via Instagram in 2020. “I intend to step back as a senior member of the Below Deck Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support His Majesty Andy Cohen.”

Lee, who was on the show since its debut, surprised fans when he confirmed his exit three years later. Kate and Lee reunited on Couch Talk With Captain Lee and Kate, which aired for one season in 2023.

Biggest ‘Below Deck’ Feuds — and Where the Relationships Stand Today

On Below Deck, Lee was replaced with Captain Kerry Titheradge — but not before Captain Sandy Yawn briefly filled in while Lee faced health issues during his last season on the show.

After Lee publicly questioned how Sandy ran things in his absence, Kate showed support for them both. As the drama died down, fans noticed that Lee and Kate were no longer in contact, which she has since confirmed.

After their respective exits from Below Deck, Kate and Lee reunited on Couch Talk With Captain Lee and Kate, which aired for one season in October 2023. They spent time together at BravoCon one month later, where Us caught them for a joint interview.

June 2024

After Lee publicly questioned Sandy, Kate weighed in on the back and forth.

“I think that Sandy is a really talented captain. She always has been. I think she drives the boat the best out of any captain in any Below Deck franchise,” Kate told Us. “I don’t think that any of Lee’s criticisms of her were necessarily fair [or] warranted.”

She continued: “Just like with any other friends, I’m not going to take sides or end a friendship if that’s not how I feel.”

During an interview with Us, Kate offered an update on her friendship with Lee, saying, “I moved away from Fort Lauderdale and obviously we don’t work on boats together anymore. But he was always such a big part of my life that we’ve lost touch a little bit. But I wish him very well.”

November 2025

“I’m just so busy with my toddler,” Kate shared with Us while attending BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas. “I think it happens when you work with somebody.”

Kate clarified why she was no longer in touch with Lee. “You’ve got something in common to talk about — and now we don’t,” she added. “The ship has sailed. I’m happy for him and I’m happy for me.”

Denise Richards Breaks Silence on Restraining Order Against Ex Aaron Phypers

Denise Richards spoke out about the long-term restraining order she obtained against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, calling it “a process.”

On Sunday, November 16, Richards, 54, appeared at BravoCon in Las Vegas, where she took the stage for a panel with other stars from the network.

Richards told the audience that she was doing “good” after a judge sided with her. As Us previously reported, on November 7, the court ordered Phypers to stay 100 yards away from her until 2030. (Richards had been granted a temporary order on July 16, days after Phypers filed for divorce.)

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star added that it has been “a process” and that she has a “great support system.”

Later in the panel, Richards admitted the split has been “very daunting” due to it playing out in the public eye. “It’s different because on the reality shows, our personal life is out there,” Richards said. “On reality [TV], you can’t pretend it’s not happening.”

Denise Richards Testifies Ex Aaron Assaulted Her During Surgery Recovery

As Us previously reported, Richards and Phypers took the stand in court as part of her plea for a restraining order. Richards described Phypers allegedly assaulting her multiple times throughout their marriage. She detailed a recent alleged incident where Phypers got physical with her while she recovered from surgery. In court docs, Richards wrote about the alleged abuse she suffered.

“Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages,” she alleged.

On the stand, Phypers denied ever touching or threatening Richards. He claimed one of the black eyes she said he gave her was caused by her walking into a pole.

Denise Richards’ Ex Aaron Phypers Calls Cops on Her Amid Divorce

Phypers previously told Us about the claims, “These accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful. Denise and I, like many couples, have faced our share of challenges, but any suggestion of abuse is categorically untrue.”

During the trial, Phypers’ cousin Kathleen McAllister testified she saw him hit Richards at his wellness center in Malibu. Phypers denied the claim.

On October 17, Phypers was arrested by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department after he finished testifying in the case. He was charged with two felony counts related to injuring a spouse and two felony counts related to dissuading a witness by force or threat.

Phypers’ lawyer, Michael Finley, previously told Us, “We can confirm that Aaron Phypers was, in fact, arrested near the end of the family law court day on October 17, 2025, and was later released on bail.”

Denise Richards’ Ex Aaron Phypers Arrested in Court for ‘Spousal Abuse’

“We have not seen the criminal complaint, but we believe that it is most likely based upon the some of the same false accusations that Denise Richards has brought against Mr. Phypers in the family law domestic violence proceeding, which she claims occurred nearly four years ago,” Phypers’ lawyer added. “If so, we expect that the evidence will demonstrate Mr. Phypers’ innocence and that he will be acquitted.”

As Us first reported, Richards and Phypers were also recently sued for eviction. (The exes shared the home in question before Richards moved out in 2023. Phypers and his family are the only residents in the home at the moment.)

BBC’s Problem: What Happens When You Tell Lies

Source: Watched TB Joshua

You may have heard the recent news about the BBC and Donald Trump. The BBC is a very large news company. They are in big trouble because they edited a speech by Trump to make it say something different. It was a dishonest thing to do.

Because of this, Trump is angry. He has asked for an apology and says he will take them to court. Some important people at the BBC have even lost their jobs over this.

For many of us, this is not a surprise. We saw the BBC do something very similar to a great man of God: Prophet T.B. Joshua.

The BBC made a film about Prophet T.B. Joshua and his church, SCOAN. The film was full of lies. It only showed one side of the story from people who were against him.

The church, now led by his wife Pastor Evelyn Joshua, showed strong proof that the film was wrong. We showed:

  • Official police reports that supported the church.
  • Video proof of the good work and miracles.
  • Stories from many people whose lives were changed for the better.

But the BBC did not listen. They did not say sorry. They did not take the film down. Shockingly, they even won an award for their lying film.

We believe that God sees when people tell lies about good people. We believe that you cannot mock God.

What is happening to the BBC now with Trump shows that God is fair. The same habit of lying that they used against the prophet is now causing problems for them in public. Their mistake is being shown to the whole world.

This is a lesson for everyone: lies you tell will eventually find you out.

The bad spirit that helped them tell lies is still in their company. It will keep causing them trouble until they do the right thing.

They must remove the false film about Prophet T.B. Joshua, and publicly apologize to Pastor Evelyn Joshua and the entire SCOAN.

We are watching them. We are waiting to see what will happen. We know that God will always defend the truth.

Defence Minister Chipungu engages Luchenza communities in pioneering development dialogue

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Constituents on Monday, November 17, witnessed a landmark moment as Chimwemwe Chipungu, Member of Parliament and Minister of Defense, convened a community engagement meeting aimed at strengthening local development structures.

The event, held at Upstairs Lodge, brought together key stakeholders to elect a new Development Committee that will spearhead development initiatives in the area.

The gathering drew a diverse audience, including the newly elected Mayor of Luchenza, His Lordship Grivin Namukopo, party representatives, religious leaders, traditional chiefs, and members of the business community.

Their presence underscored the significance of the initiative and the shared commitment to improving the constituency.

In his address, Chipungu applauded the newly elected committee, urging them to uphold transparency, accountability, and integrity in executing their mandate.

He stressed that the constituency is ready for a new chapter of progress, warning that any mismanagement or embezzlement of public resources will be met with serious legal consequences.

“We are opening a new developmental face for Luchenza,” he said.

“But this can only be achieved if those entrusted with responsibility serve with honesty and dedication.”

Speaking on behalf of the new committee, Richard Musisi expressed gratitude for the engagement, describing it as a groundbreaking approach in the history of the Luchenza Municipality Constituency.

He commended Chipungu for initiating the dialogue and fostering a collaborative spirit between leaders and the community.

The establishment of the new Development Committee is expected to streamline community-driven projects and strengthen coordination between local authorities and residents as Luchenza sets its sights on accelerated growth.

Zambia Police Deputy Chief Hamaamba accused of partisan pressure on officers ahead of 2026 Elections

LUSAKA-(MaraviPost)-Newly appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police in Zambia, Fred Hamaamba, is facing criticism for allegedly pressuring police officers to influence their families’ votes in favor of President Hakainde Hichilema (HH) in the 2026 elections.

According to multiple reports, Hamaamba has been instructing officers that their children and relatives must support HH, raising serious concerns over the politicization of Zambia’s police service.

A video circulating recently shows Hamaamba praising HH while denouncing the previous administration, behavior widely regarded as inappropriate for a civil servant tasked with neutrality.

Despite public criticism, Hamaamba appears to have intensified his efforts, reportedly warning that any police officer whose family members are seen criticizing HH, even on social media, risks losing their job.

Some officers, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Hamaamba’s directives have created fear and tension within the police ranks.

Observers argue that such actions undermine the integrity and independence of the police, which is supposed to serve the nation impartially rather than a particular political figure.

Human rights advocates and political analysts warn that this type of partisan behavior by law enforcement officials could erode public trust and destabilize democratic processes ahead of the 2026 elections.

The controversy highlights the delicate balance between public service neutrality and political influence, and questions remain about whether Zambia’s police leadership is upholding its constitutional mandate.

The situation is now drawing widespread attention, with citizens questioning whether such overt political pressure aligns with the principles of a democratic and secure Zambia.

Chisenga slams police, hospital over mishandling of child abuse case in Thyolo

THYOLO-(MaraviPost)-Human rights activist Memory Chisenga, has expressed concern, sadness, and anger over how the Masambanjati Police and Thekelani Hospital in Thyolo handled a case involving four children, aged between 8 and 14, who were abused in October.

In an interview with with Maravi Post, Chisenga said that the police and hospital are supposed to protect children from abuse, but in this case, their handling of the situation appeared to undermine justice and allowed the abuse to go unaddressed.

She called on relevant authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and hold accountable anyone who failed to fulfill their duty to protect the abused children.

The human rights activist further urged the police and all child protection officials that if they are unwilling or unable to perform their roles properly, it would be better for them to step down.

In October this year, the parents of the four children from the Mbawela area in Thyolo reported to the Masambanjati Police that a 30-year-old man had been sexually abusing their children using Jiggies (condoms) and threats of violence to silence them.

After arresting the suspect, the police released him on bail without following proper procedures, citing a report from Thekelani Hospital, which claimed that nothing had happened to the children.

This directly contradicted findings by the organization Youth Youth Net and Counseling (YONECO), which, after taking the children to the Thyolo Government Hospital, found that two of the four children had indeed been abused.

NBM plc injects MK75.5 million into ICTAM Innovation Jam

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc has donated MK75.5 million to the ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) to support the 2025 Innovation Jam, extending a partnership that has now run for six years.

The Innovation Jam will run alongside the annual ICT conference from November 19 to 22, 2025 under the theme ‘AI for Sustainable Development’, reflecting the growing influence of artificial intelligence globally.

Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony on Monday, NBM plc’s Head of Digital Financial Services, William Kaunda, said the sponsorship aims to nurture emerging ideas within Malawi’s ICT sector.

“Many talented innovators in Malawi’s ICT sector often lack the platform or support to grow their ideas. Our aim is to provide that structured support so these innovations can thrive,” said Kaunda.

Kaunda added that the Bank has signed a three-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ICTAM to ensure structured incubation of innovations arising from the Innovation Jam.

“With this MoU, we are committing to providing continuous support and guidance to the innovators over the next three years,” he said.

He also emphasized that the Bank’s digital drive and the increasing sophistication of cybercrime make artificial intelligence crucial.

“Artificial intelligence is no longer optional for us. To combat modern fraud and protect our customers, we need advanced AI tools to detect and prevent threats efficiently,” he said

ICTAM President, Clarence Gama, expressed gratitude for the Bank’s continued support.

“We are excited and grateful. The National Bank has held our hands for a very long time. This is a big testament to how the corporate sector is willing to drive technology and innovation in the country,” said Gama.

Gama added that the event will include pitching sessions by tech innovators, judged by a selected panel.

Embattled Chisale, Gangata: Malawi democracy under threat

What was supposed to be a thank-you rally at Ntandire ground in Lilongwe turned out to be a mockery to our hard-earned democracy in this country.

In the first place, the introductory remarks made by the Deputy Minister of Homeland security, Norman Chisale, were soothing when he well articulated on the independence of the Judiciary and the Executive arms of government regarding the handling of the allegedly Malawi Congress Party (MCP) sponsored machete armed assailants.

However, drama took the centre stage when he instructed the Malawi Police Service (MPS), on the podium, to arrest the suspect who hacked a Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) woman official.

Unfortunately, one critic lamented that even though the arrest may be deemed genuine but as long as a politician like Chisale is calling the shots to arrest the suspect, such action may be interpreted as being politically motivated.

As if such overboard remarks were not enough, Chisale went further to instruct the police to use force when a suspect shows any resistance.

Another critic said that such statement is very unfortunate because currently there are already reports that police brutality is rampant in our police cells and therefore police may abuse this instruction to escalate brutality further.

It must be appreciated that Malawians expect the MPS to be service- oriented when its nomenclature changed from ‘Malawi Police Force’ to ‘Malawi Police Service’. One wonders if our democracy is regressing instead of maturing.

It was as if I was watching another episode of drama series when the youthful Alfred Gangata who doubles as both Minister of State and DPP Vice President for Central region took to podium too.

It is mind-boggling that Gangata who is supposed to serve all Malawians regardless of their political affiliation, being a minister of state who draws tax payers’ money, declared that beneficiaries of fertilizer subsidy must prioritised to DPP zealots.

Let us be frank. Time of campaign is over and it is high time that government officials served the citizenry with impartiality, integrity and professionalism.

After all, the 16 September presidential election results were unique. The victor, Peter Mutharika overwhelmingly got votes even in the MCP stronghold central region.

It is also important to appreciate that some MCP sycophants voted for APM just for a change of their excruciating livelihood.

Therefore, to discriminate against MCP followers is very inconsiderate, unfair and inhuman.

Going forward, Gangata went further to declare that he can send his boys to remove a professional from office because he suspects that some people deceived President Mutharika to appoint such professionals.

He added that such professional jobs must awarded to DPP die-hards who fought hard for Mutharika to ascend to power.

It must be known that powers of appointing people to public positions rest on President Mutharika.

Additionally, Gangata’s advice to the President cannot override Mutharika’s powers.

Therefore, it is a display of open defiance to challenge the appointment of President Mutharika by threatening that he will send his boys to manhandle a professional appointed by his boss.

In conclusion, both Chisale and Gangata are cordially advised to follow the rule of law thereby upholding our democratic values.

Voters are expecting to hear how the Mutharika government will solve their economic and social problems. Time of politics is over.

Lastly, it is highly advisable that intra-party squabbles must be resolved within the party without washing dirty linen on the podium.
