Cyprus President announces Cabinet reshuffle with changes in five portfolios

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, announced on Friday evening a Cabinet reshuffle, introducing changes in five portfolios.

According to an announcement by the Presidency, President Christodoulides, exercising the powers granted to him by the Constitution, has decided to make changes to the composition of the members of the Government.

In particular, George Papanastasiou is leaving his post as Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry, and Michael Damianos, who until now served as Minister of Health, is appointed in his place.

Yiannis Panayiotou is stepping down from the position of Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, and DEPA MP Marinos Moushiouttas is appointed to the post.

Marios Hartsiotis is leaving the post of Minister of Justice and Public Order to become Presidential Commissioner. Constantinos Fitiris is appointed as the new Justice Minister.

Neophytos Charalambides is appointed to the position previously held by Michael Damianos at the Minister of Health.

Marilena Evangelou is leaving her post as Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, and Clea Hadjistephanou Papaellina is appointed in her place.

The swearing-in and handover ceremonies of the new Ministers and Government officials will take place on Monday, 8 December 2025.

“The President of the Republic wishes to express his warm thanks for the significant work carried out by the outgoing members of the Government and for their excellent cooperation,” the announcement states.
