Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides expressed hope that crisis in the region will soon come to an end, during a luncheon hosted on Thursday by the Ambassador of Qatar to Cyprus, Yousef Sultan Laram.
Ambassadors of Arab states were among the guests.
According to a press release by the Cyprus Presidency, the President held a private meeting with the Ambassador before the luncheon and praised Qatar’s role in bringing the crisis to an end.
President Christodoulides said that both the international community and the EU understand the importance of the states of our region, noting that one of the main priorities of the Cyprus EU Presidency is to bring the EU closer to the region.
He also pointed out the effects of the crisis on the states of the region, expressing the wish that the crisis will end and “we will have good news very soon for the benefit of all”.
