6 bomb suspects surrender in Maguindanao

Six bomb experts of terrorist groups Dawlah Islamiya and the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters surrendered to the military in Datu Anggal Midtimbang town in Maguindanao del Sur on Wednesday.

The surrenderees turned over several firearms and improvised explosive devices to the Army’s 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion before taking their oath of allegiance to the country in front of 601st Infantry Brigade chief Brig. Gen. Edgar Catu.

They said that news about the reintegration to mainstream society of hundreds of their former companions who surrendered earlier inspired them to ask local officials to help facilitate their surrender.
