Thailand’s energy consulting and solutions market is becoming increasingly competitive as rising electricity costs and growing interest in clean energy drive demand for renewable power systems among households and businesses.
Two recent corporate moves underscore the industry’s momentum.
E-commerce operator Cloud Consultant (1981) has entered the solar energy sector through a partnership with solar equipment distributor Terawatt Energy.
The companies signed a memorandum of understanding to provide solar solutions powered by smart energy technology from China’s Sigenergy, driven by artificial intelligence (AI).
Choopong Anansitthichok, chief executive of Cloud Consultant, said the collaboration is designed to meet growing customer demand for customised energy systems.
Chawanun Thongpha, head of engineering and inverters at Terawatt Energy, said the company will use AI throughout the energy management process and offer after-sales services, building long-term customer relationships beyond installation work.
Meanwhile, SET-listed engineering sales agent Mastec Link Plc has expanded into integrated energy solutions as it seeks new sources of recurring revenue.
Chief executive Dusadee Meechai said the strategy builds on the company’s engineering expertise while generating income from maintenance and energy management services.
Mastec aims to secure a backlog of 500-600 million baht by the end of 2026 across its business segments.
The company also plans to bid for the government’s community-based solar power programme, which targets 1,500 megawatts of solar farm capacity to strengthen local energy security and reduce electricity expenses.
The expansion of energy solution providers comes as businesses, households and public agencies look for ways to lower power bills, improve energy efficiency and meet carbon-reduction goals.
Thailand has pledged to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The government is preparing a rooftop solar scheme offering subsidies of up to 50,000 baht per household. The programme aims to attract 1.5 million households, with registration expected to begin in October.
Industry executives say the incentive programme could create significant business opportunities next year, particularly for rooftop solar installers and energy service providers.
Several major firms, including Banpu Next, WHA Utilities and Power and BCPG, are expanding their rooftop solar and integrated energy businesses.
